Food and Cooking

No one in our family suffers from low cholesterol or being underweight.

My husband and I are great cooks...and so are our sons and their wives...
There is just something about creating a dish and feeding it to those you love that makes life good.

We love good and varied types of food. A good wine to accompany the dish and fresh ingredients if possible....it's all good!  (If you ever go to Santa Fe, please stop at Vino del Corazon, on Don Gaspar, and visit my cousin and her family's wine shop....you won't regret it!)

We love trying new techniques and flavors.  It would be so much fun to travel to different places in the US to sample "the best of...."  (you fill in the blank)...in that city...

I love GOOD cookware and utensils.   Circulon makes a great line of pots and pans.  I got a saucier a month or so ago.  It's a 4.5 quart large saucepan or small stock pot.  You can cook ANYTHING in it. A lot. A little...it's the most versatile thing I have.  $35. at Bed, Bath and Beyond and with a 20% off coupon, you can't lose!  VERY worth it. I have a cast iron Dutch oven that belonged to my mother-in-law....you can't pry that thing out of my grip...it's a "must have" ...as is the crock pot. A staple in the kitchen.   Sharp knives and a good, sanitizable cutting board (or boards) are a must.  Large glass measuring cups..like Pampered Chef's batter bowls....are wonderful.  Multi use stuff ....love it.  A friend introduced me to Insocore food 'carrier' thingys.   If you transport food to a sick friend or to a family gathering, these things rock the house.  They stack. They are insulated. You can get them on QVC cheap.

More as I think of things...g'day!
